HANDMADES
A collection of small multi-media abstract paintings framed by hand using vintage wooden rulers. The works incorporate thick impasto paint, alongside thin glazes, poured on resin and collaged elements. They are an exploration of the textural qualities of paint. A gloss finish accentuates the marks and the frames add a three dimensional quality, bridging the gap between fine art painting and hand-crafted object.
SELF PORTRAIT
Taking the Instagram grid as a starting point, the reference image was divided into nine panels painted consecutively. The panels can then be rearranged, rotated or replaced to create new multi-panel works.
PAINTWORK
An ongoing series of paintings using white and tonal variations as the basis for an exploration of the physical qualities of paint.
